University of Ghana UG-Tullow funding for International Students Scheme in Ghana Established in 1948, University of Ghana is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Legon (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Greater Accra. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Korle-Bu, Accra City. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the National Accreditation Board, Ghana (National Accreditation Board, Ghana), University of Ghana (UG) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Ghana (UG) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 71 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 30-40% making this Ghanaian higher education organization a very selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

To be eligible for this fund, the applicant must be able to demonstrate financial need. Candidate must have to obtain a WASSC aggregate of 19 or better or a continuing student with a GPA of 3.0 and above.

The applicant must be of good conduct, be in good academic standing and enrolled at University of Ghana in a full-time regular undergraduate or postgraduate program reading any of the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) programs listed.

Application Process

The University of Ghana Students Financial Aid Office (UG-SFAO) is accepting applications for the award of the 2019/2020 UG-Tullow Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for both undergraduate and graduate students in relevant academic fields who are exceptionally brilliant but with dire financial needs.

The UG-Tullow award is a full scholarship which covers tuition, stipend/subsistence/health insurance, modest subsidy for equipment (Laptop computer) and accommodation for students pursuing 4 years undergraduate programmes and 1 year master’s programmes (but in exceptional circumstances may also include 2 years M.Phil programmes). The award recipients are expected to maintain excellent academic standards of at least a B average or 3.0 CGPA in order to be in good standing to keep the Scholarship.
