The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Reading is pleased to offer fully-funded four-year EPSRC PhD Studentships in the Mathematical Sciences to deserving students for the academic year 2022-2023.

Up to 2 students will be provided this studentship. International and domestic students can apply and are eligible to receive the studentship. The studentships award covers stipend/maintenance at the UKRI level up to £15,609.

EPSRC PhD International Fellowships in Mathematical Sciences, UK Founded in 1892, University of Reading is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Reading (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: British national students and all international students can apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD programme at the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Reading is eligible to apply for.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have a first degree in a relevant field.

Offered Benefits

The successfully selected PhD candidates will be provided a stipend/maintenance grant at the UKRI level (£15,609 per annum for 2021/22).

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Application must make an admission application via the online application system. The applicants must indicate on their application form which project(s) they are interested in undertaking should their application be successful.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Full transcripts of all degree programs
  • Contact details for two academic/professional references
  • Statement of purpose
  • A copy of your passport (for international students)
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must hold a first degree in mathematics, physics, statistics, or a related relevant area and have obtained at least a 2.1 degree.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • IELTS – 6.5
