International Fully-Funded Swansea and Boston Scientific Ltd PhD Scholarships in UK Established in 1920, Swansea University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Swansea (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Wales. This 99 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to candidates of any nationality.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by Swansea University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must hold an undergraduate degree at the 2.1 level (or Non-UK equivalent as defined by Swansea University) in Engineering or a similar relevant science discipline. Graduates in computational science or mathematics are also encouraged to apply. Additionally, candidates may need to provide evidence of their English language proficiency.

Application Process

To apply for this scholarship, candidates must complete their application online through Swansea University’s official application portal. The application should include the following information:

  • Course choice: Biomedical Engineering / PhD / Full-time / 3 Years / October
  • Start year: 2024
  • Funding: Indicate “RS592 – Bioprosthetic Design Evaluation” as the name of the individual or organization providing funds for study.

Additionally, applicants must upload the following documents as part of their online application:

  1. CV
  2. Degree certificates and transcripts (if currently studying for a degree, screenshots of grades to date are sufficient)
  3. A cover letter including a ‘Supplementary Personal Statement’ explaining why the position particularly matches their skills and experience, and how they plan to develop the project.
  4. Two references (academic or previous employer) on headed paper or using the Swansea University reference form.
  5. Evidence of meeting English Language requirement (if applicable).
  6. Copy of UK resident visa (if applicable).
  7. Confirmation of EDI form submission (optional).
